Seems like ‘the continent’ is getting some pretty heavy love in Amsterdam, here are two shows that I gurantee are better than vegging out at the coffeeshop. – Jbaker

New Positions in Contemporary African Photography

Fresh off of it’s run in New York City at ICP, Snap Judgements is am exhibition of work by 35 of Africa’s contemporary artists and shooters, all giving a visual POV of their continent. Says the press release “The exhibition reveals how artists are using photography to respond artistically to the enormous changes currently taking place in African economic, social and cultural life. The artists also break away from lingering stereotypical images of their cultures, histories and countries.”
