Jamaica turns 46 today and they’re havin’ a party y’all, with performances and a sports tribute at the National Stadium…and a “Bandmania”—a marching band showcase. I will also be celebrating Jamaica’s independence at a Deadly Dragon Sound party tonight in NYC’s Lower East Side. {Jamaica Gleaner}

It seems Dsteel is not the only one who can’t get enough of Obamarama. Graphic design hotshot Shepard Fairey has answered the call of the people, and launched a “Pro-Obama Art Contest” in collaboration with MoveOn.org and Upper Playground gallery (San Fran). Since everyone is desperate for new ways to express their support for Barack and his crew, I’m guessing it’ll be a hit. {XLR8R}

The Aborigines in Australia just got their rain forest back. Well, what’s left of it anyway. The Australian government handed back the “largest (1800 square kilometers) remaining tract of tropical rain forest” to Aboriginal owners today. {Globe and Mail}

I’ll admit it.
