…Says The Single Girl: Liar Liar

There’s this thing I do whenever I go out on a first date with a guy I just met. I text my BF his:
.
– Full Name
– License Plate #
– Phone #
– Occupation/Place of Employment
.
I don’t know when I started doing this but I know why. Being a single woman in a big city every time you go out with a new guy you are taking a chance. I’ve watched enough Lifetime movies to be scared shitless about a mickey in my drink, a date rapist, etc. I’m super paranoid. My paranoia is so infectious I got my BF to do the same whenever she goes out with a new guy. People are crazy and the last thing I want to do is talk about how great my BF was on a Dateline Mystery episode..This may seem like a foolproof plan, but then again you have to take into account that your wonderful date is a liar.

Granted, we all lie when we first meet someone. Whether its a little tale to make us seem smarter, dumber, wealthier, etc, we embellish.

I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about full fledge liars.

That’s not his real name, age, he has lifts in his shoes and that’s not his car.

Have you ever dated a liar?

Most men who lie do so because they are hiding something like a wife/girlfriend or kid.

Most women who lie do so because they aren’t sure they really like you so they tell you crap to keep you in a box until they decide to keep you around and come clean.

The worst lie I used to tell was about my age. Between 16-24 I always added anywhere from 2 – 5 years to my age. I always attracted older men and thought there was no way they would date me if they knew I was a freshman in college. Little did I know, every man wants a tender young thing. I could have been racking up with sugar daddies.

The craziest lie I was told was that his ex-girlfriend was his cousin and they were roommates.

Foolishness.

I don’t lie anymore. There’s no need too. I’m too lazy to keep my stories straight and my memory isn’t the best.

I used to do that, too! (Send the info text, that is, not lie, lol.) It just makes sense living alone and not having your parents to get the deets before you peel out in his big brother’s car.
