In Ghana, the 4Syte Video Music Awards aired recently with its own set of cyphers (a la BET’s Hip-Hop Awards) featuring Ghanaian MCs Iwan, J-Town, C-Real, Scientic, E.L., and Denise. While the Ghanaian cypher from the (International) BET Hip-Hop Awards has already made its rounds since airing in October, I’m going to have to rock with this 4Syte version. I wonder if international rappers will ever get the same respect here in the US that our exports get abroad because I’m not mad at what I see. Thoughts? See both sets for yourself below.
