‘Milk + Honey,’ A New Web Series: The Hotness

Ooh wee!! Brown Paper Dolls, an LA-based production company started by three fabulous ladies Dana Gills, Asha Kamali May and Jeanette McDuffie, just launched the trailer for their new web series Milk + Honey.  Shannon and I had the pleasure of catching a glimpse of this series earlier last year and we knew within two seconds that this would be a hit. Executive produced by Idris Elba, the series is about 4 women living in LA on spiritual, professional and romantic journeys to make their dreams reality. It  features Lance Gross, Faun Chambers, Bryce Wilson and the one and only Debbie Allen.

Three years ago, Dana, Asha and Jeanette set out to create a real-life story about life in Los Angeles, beyond the smoke and mirrors, while also providing an opportunity for Black actors in Hollywood.  In addition to Gross, Chambers, Wilson and Mrs. Allen, the film also features up and coming actors Rob Smith, Yaani King, Shauntay Hinton (Miss USA 2002) and Charles Divins. It’s HBCU talent at it’s finest since Howard, FAMU & Spelman are represented both behind and in front of the camera.

Look out for the full series on Milk+Honey soon. If you look close, you just may see a glimpse of Parlour too! Meanwhile, here’s a look at the trailer. Enjoy!
