Rihanna, Drake Cuddle Up For ‘Take Care’ Video

Aside from creating my favorite Vogue song of 2011 in “Take Care,” Rihanna and Drake also had a brief love affair that floated up to the press around Drake’s debut. It was not long after the Chris Brown-Grammy fiasco — this time of year brings back so many memories — and many people hoped that RiRi’d move on to another man. Well, according to “Fireworks” from Thank Me Later and then all the magazine interviews the Canadian did subsequently, the Bajan pop star did. Sort of. More like she flirted with Drake, let him feel important and then zipped off to the South of France or something.

ELLE: “Fireworks” was about being Rihanna’s rebound guy, right?
Drake: Not necessarily the rebound guy.

ELLE: Did she hurt you?
Drake: At the time it hurt, but she didn’t mean to. I’ll never put that on her. I was hurt because I started to slowly realize what it was. I guess I thought it was more. That was the first girl with any fame that paid me any mind. You spend days reading about this person in the magazines. All of a sudden you have this number-one song and you’re at some birthday party and there she is. And you’re just some naive kid from Toronto staying in some shitty-ass hotel who got invited to this party on a whim. That’s just how it happened.

However their tryst went down, it makes for good sexual chemistry and awkwardness on “Take Care” and this image is proof that the former flirters are shooting a video for my favorite downbeat song. #ohletsdoit
