Hotel Love: Take a Break at the Tamarind

Nestled on the West Coast of Barbados in St. James parish just 30 minutes from the airport, this property is the perfect balance of fun and relaxation for a couple, a group of friends or the whole family. From the ocean and poolside rooms to the spa and gym, the Tamarind is a great vacation reprieve from the hustle and bustle of your busy life.

During the day, the beach has plenty of water sport options like paddle boarding or jet skiing. And if lounging surf side while sipping on a drink is more your speed, there are two bars near the water’s edge to serve you. The attentive staff make sure you’ve got all the food and beverages you can handle — we suggest the shrimp salad (with extra shrimp) — available right at your beach chair.

If you’re a pool enthusiast, there are three on the property, two near the ocean and one just outside of the spa. Make sure to schedule a massage for ultimate relaxation, followed by a spell watching the ocean at Daphne’s restaurant located next door. The Parlour-approved Cin Cin restaurant is also a short cab ride away, so reserve a time for cocktails and dinner at the fashionably modern eatery where the waves lapping at the rocks provide the soundtrack to a delicious meal.

After a night out at Oistins, St. Lawrence Gap or one of the clubs, return to your spacious Tamarind room where you can tweet, Instagram or Facebook your fun times and new friends on the complimentary wifi—just make sure you mention Parlour so we can shout you out! And as the day winds down, whether you choose an ocean, pool or garden view room, the hotel’s quality standard includes a flatscreen TV with cable, mini-fridge, air conditioning, spacious bathroom, iPod docking station as well as a safe for important belongings like passports.

So, meet us at the Tamarind? We’ll be on the beach!
