Murakami
Brooklyn Museum of Art
Brooklyn, NY
April 5 – July 13
We admit that one of the only reasons we are going to this show is for the Louis Vuitton pop-up shop. But then again, everything Murakami does is pretty dope so we are expecting an overall bright and sunny show. On April 5, the Brooklyn Museum opens a retrospective of his work. If you are in New York, you can check out the exhibit and grab a cocktail during the museum’s First Saturday.

Worlds Away: New Suburban Landscapes
@ The Walker Arts Center
Minneapolis – MN
Through August 16, 2008
Ah, the suburbs. Manicured lawns, mini-vans and Target Greatland. One day when we grow up, we plan to purchase a McMansion and relive our “city girl” days while lounging in our backyard gazebo — until then we will settle for Worlds Away to get a glimpse of our suburban future. Walker also houses an extensive collection of works by one of our favorite gals, Kara Walker.
