All I can say is I love America sometimes. Meet the latest theme park to hit the US of A. A NYTimes article says that Hard Rock Park in Myrtle Beach, SC shows that the changing music industry is forcing rock music to use more creative outlets. That may be true. However, I really think that Hard Rock Park is an example of how American culture takes any and everything that people hold dear and perverts it. Check out this tool posing in front of the Beatles’ Abby Road album cover sans Beatles. {NYT}
A WWE wrestler from Ghana, Kofi Kingston, has denied his African identity and claimed that he is Jamaican in order to succeed in the ring because he figured no one would know where the eff Ghana is. Kinda sad, but also kinda true. {BBC}
A young Army Vet chose college over combat when he refused to go to Iraq after serving five of his eight-years. Homey is now shakin’ in his boots while he waits to find out what the US army will do with him. To me that’s pretty courageous. {MTV}
OK who downloaded the new Girl Talk record? Isn’t it so dope when you put your iPod on shuffle and you don’t know whether he’s going to pair UNK’s “Walk It Out” with Twisted Sister’s “We’re Not Gonna Take it” or Sinead O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares” with Shawnna’s “Gettin Some Head” next. GT’s going on a mega tour and while he’s not playing in NYC he is playing at All Points West in NJ, I might just have to cross the border for that. {XLR8R}
Britney + Madonna = GUILTY PLEASURE #1. Well OMG, a rep from Brit said that she might be considering filming a video for Madge’s tour. HELL YES. {E}
