Californians are kinda pissed at Nadya Suleman, the woman who just had octuplets. Her hospital Kaiser Permanente Bellflower Medical Center is asking Med-Cal, California’s health plan, to front the no doubt ginormous bill for her delivery. The octuplets bring her total number of babies under the age of eight to 14. Let’s hope this is it for Suleman. {Perez}{People}
A twister tore through Oklahoma last night, killing up to fifteen people and leaving at least 14 people injured. BBC’s got footage of the tornado. {BBC}
A Taliban suicide attack on government properties in Kabul, Afghanistan has killed 19 people and wounded 54. The Taliban also claimed that “other suicide bombers could still be at large in [Kabul].” If you plan on taking this on, looks like you’ve got your work cut out for you Barack. But I guess you knew that already. {NYT}
Lloyds, a major bank in the UK and one recipient of the government bail out, was accused by the Treasury of tax avoidance.
