” Show will follow six lesbians in Los Angeles as they go about their lives — a lesbian answer to Bravo’s “Real Housewives” franchise. Project is dependent on casting, the net said; if all goes as planned, “The Real L Word” would debut sometime next year.”
My mom had a saying about “letting sleeping dogs lie” or something like that. Obviously, Showtime and L-Word creator Ilene Chaiken have never heard of it. Since they botched the series (with one of the worst finales…ever) they have decided to revive the franchise with a “The Real L Word: Los Angeles” that is set to debut next year on the network. Hearing a comparison to “Real Housewives”, I wonder what fame-hungry/happy women they are going to cast? Hopefully it reflects a diverse group, ie. no token minority women (remember “Papi”?). Since Logo already has a reality show based on the ladies of West Hollywood, Gimme Sugar (hey, at least three of their girls are Asian), let’s all collectively hold our breath—or maybe not.
We shall see! Source
