DJ Beverly Bond was honored by the United Way this weekend for her philanthropist work with Black Girls Rock! Inc. She started the organization four years ago as an empowerment tool for young women of color, and is now being recognized for her efforts. Congratulations to Bev B and the entire organization. In an open letter to President Obama, Angelina Jolie called for immediate action to protect human rights in Darfur. The piece was published last week, and argued in support of the proposed United Nations’ sanctions against Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir. It’s an interesting bit, check it out at [Newsweek].
