Versailles Revisited, Moscow’s Security Troubles, Obama Tonight & China’s Ultimate Knock-Off

Yesterday, the Metropolitan Museum of Art was the hottest place to be in American fashion. Designer Stephen Burrows and Oscar de la Renta hosted a luncheon to commemorate the legendary “Battle of Versailles” in which five American designers trumped their French counterparts in 1973 with the flyest secret weapon: eight of America’s top models of color—which was literally unheard of at the time. All of the original beauties were there to be celebrated (shown above with Stephen): Billie Blair, Alva Chinn, Pat Cleveland, Norma Jean Darden, Charlene Dash, Bethann Hardison, China Machado and Amina Warsuma. President Obama’s State of The Union Address is tonight. Are you ready? Expect much on how our Congress is like the 5th grade cafeteria, health care and government spending. {CNN}
